Scotland's Lighthouses

Scotland
is a country of wild, windswept beauty and a rocky, broken coastline. Mariners ancient and modern seeking port in Scotland have been at the mercy of ferocious storms and swirling tides. Because of this, coastal lighthouses are as much a part of Scotland’s culture as bagpipes, whisky and tartans.

And as you will see in “Scotland’s Lighthouses”, each one has it’s own remarkable story.

“Scotland’s Lighthouses” takes you on a grand sweep around the entire Scottish coast, visiting 36 lighthouses, featuring Esha Ness, Rua Reidh, Corsewall, Bell Rock, Holy Island, Kinnard Head, Ardnamurchan, St. Abbs, North Ronaldsay, Balta Sound, Brough of Birsay, Turnberry and Stroma.

Each of these majestic beacons has a personality as distinctive as the people who live there.

We spent 5 weeks touring and videotaping the lighthouses, from Corsewall Lighthouse in the south of Scotland to Muckle Flugga in the north. Our documentary is 60 minutes in length and has shown all over the world. We’re very proud of it.
